At RH Marine, we realise the system integration of electrical and automation systems on board naval vessels, submarines and superyachts. A complex but fascinating field of work full of innovations. Every ship is custom-made for the customer and after christening, we remain responsible for maintenance and upgrades. So it remains ‘our baby’ throughout the life cycle.

In the coming years, we will be very busy with the new construction and refits of various naval vessels, which is why we are looking for a Technical Project Manager Electrical who will take charge of the construction of custom systems. This is a position for 32 - 40 hours a week, based in Schiedam.


Job information

As a Technical Project Manager you will join colleagues from Electrical Engineering Naval (now 18 FTE in total) who deal with system integration, electrical design and power distribution of systems on board naval vessels and submarines. You are technically responsible from A to Z for the progress of the project and the quality of the product to be engineered, you are closely involved in the technical design in terms of content. 

You are responsible for one or more projects, often long-term. You work mainly from Schiedam, but you are sometimes also present at the shipyards or on site at the end user. You report to the Project Manager and work intensively with your colleagues from other engineering disciplines (mechanical and automation), commissioning and service. Your concrete tasks:

  • Planning and monitoring the work of the Engineers and providing substantive support in case of problems;
  • Independently coordinating requirements and technical concepts with the customer;
  • Coordinating planning with purchasing, production and project management;
  • Ensuring and testing the quality of the designs against the contract, regulations and standards;
  • Supporting sales during quotation processes.

You are able to take the lead, to persevere where necessary with an eye for the interests of others. You can be firm at the right moments, but also diplomatic towards demanding internal and external clients.

You work in a structured way with a tight schedule and keep the big picture in sight. You like to sink your teeth into complex, multi-year projects and are able to complete matters. We also require:

  • A completed Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related;
  • 8-10 years of work experience in electrical engineering/systems integration;
  • Experience with project management of technical projects, certification in IPMA or PMI is a plus;
  • Experience managing specialist engineers and consultants;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Eplan P8 and Inventor;
  • Knowledge of hardware components and good understanding of automation, communication protocols and network architectures and configuration management;
  • Knowledge of classification agency requirements is a plus;
  • Willingness to apply for a 'Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag' and 'Verklaring Geen Bezwaar';
  • In possession of Dutch nationality and from a NATO country;
  • Good, clear communication and documentation skills in Dutch and English.

  • A salary between €5,400 and €6,300 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;
  • 8% holiday pay;
