At RH Marine, we integrate electrical and automation systems on board naval vessels, submarines, and superyachts. It is a complex but fascinating field of work full of innovations. Every ship is customized for the customer, and after the christening, we remain responsible for maintenance and upgrades. So it remains “our baby” throughout its entire life cycle.
In the coming years, we will be very busy with the new construction and refits of various naval vessels, which is why we are looking for an Electrical Lead Engineer for naval projects who will take charge of the construction of custom systems. This is a position for 32-40 hours per week, based in Schiedam.
Job information
As Lead Engineer, you are the central point of contact for technical matters relating to electrical engineering work for naval vessels. No two days are the same; your work varies constantly and you switch between various stakeholders on a daily basis without losing sight of the planning and prioritization. You translate customer requirements into engineering, purchasing, and production department specifications and vice versa. Your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring project planning;
- Monitoring project scope (number of engineering hours, employees, and priorities);
- Monitoring/implementing project requirements;
- Managing and distributing work among the members of the project team;
- Internal contact person for Project Management, the R&D teams, purchasing (suppliers), production (focusing on technology and processing
- questions and comments);
- External contact person for the shipyard and classification societies.
Technology is the basis for all your work.
Job requirements
For the role of Lead Engineer, we are looking for a coaching, solution-oriented coordinator who is skilled at setting priorities and maintaining an overview. You have a feel for managing teams and assigning the right tasks to the right people. In addition, you can estimate the technical scope in terms of hours. You also have:
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience;
- Experience in managing technical teams/engineers;
- Maritime experience is an advantage;
- Willingness to apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct and Certificate of No Objection;
- Born a citizen of a NATO member state;
- Good, clear communication and documentation skills in English; Dutch is an advantage.

- A salary between €4,915 and €7,280 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience;
